The area is largely underlain by rocks of the Damara Supergroup and straddles the boundary between the Northern/Outjo Zone and the Northern Margin of the Damara Orogen. This setting is considered prospective for gold mineralisation in the Karibib Formation, similar to other known gold deposits in Namibia. This includes B2 Gold Namibia's Otjikoto gold project, which has mineral reserves of 29.4 million tonnes at a grade of 1.42g/t, containing 1.34 million ounces of gold. This project is in the final stages of construction and is expected to produce about 150,000 ounces of gold in 2015 and about 200,000 ounces in 2016 and 2017.
The Outjo Project also contains a number of discrete magnetic anomalies which are interpreted to be possible alkaline-carbonatite
intrusive complexes prospective for rare earth elements.
